The craftsmen at Bernard Watson are highly skilled in a number of specialist painting and decorating techniques for all restoration projects.

Our operatives are fully trained in applying traditional coatings and finishes to preserve and restore the heritage of historic and ecclesiastical buildings both internally and externally, and we have a range of invaluable experience in stencilling, gilding and graining.

Bernard Watson use only the finest gold leaf to complete gilding projects of various sizes and scales, implementing specialist gilding techniques so the finish can be distressed to create an authentic feel alongside existing decor and architecture.

And for all heritage and ecclesiastical projects involving panels, staircases and furniture, graining is used to create an authentic wooden impression which can nowadays be applied in much greater detail than ever before thanks to the modern technology invested in by Bernard Watson.
